christmas wishes

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is a pretty vintage jacket

Karl Lagerfeld vintage blazer

vintage Moschino colour block blazer

Or perhaps some pretty shoes...

YSL Tuxedo Bow heels

I know it will be hard to decide between the three, so I will be happy to receive them all

Much love

Emily

Desperately wanting

One (or all) of these Does Not Equal double rings.

Post-christmas/New Year present to myself perhaps? I was going to buy one last pair of heels before going back to uni but I think I would much rather some more finger bling.
Got lucky with the My Pet Square discount codes and their website not being blocked at work today. Managed to get the jumper I'd been eyeing off (but never bought because I didn't think it was worth the price) plus one of their summer dresses for a mere $50.

On the christmas front...a new furry addition is being made to our family. She's a surprise for dad. We can't pick her up until after New Year so I'm making him a video for christmas day purposes. Can't wait to play with her!

She is the most adorable looking little thing.

roomies

For the next couple of days my room is being shared with Jess before she heads back to Perth.
Thank god I've got two computers.
We spent today at the cinema and wandering around the city trying to find sunglasses for Jess...no luck but tomorrow is a new day. Shopping however must be done quickly, summer traditions of afternoons at Rooftop drinking must begin tomorrow. No questions about it.

wooden toy

On my way to meet up with friends for coffee yesterday I decided to pop in to Lenko for a quick browse.
I of course walked in telling myself it was just a look around with absolutely no exchange of cash or credit card to take place.

Then I found this

Sniffle Co (I was told by Dana Lenko that this is the work of one of the members of The Grates). It was adorable! Pinned to a hanky, I couldn't resist picking him up. I have to admit, it was very hard to decide between the Ice Cream and the Puffer, but in the end the cone won.

I was having a great chat with Dana about the wooden badges and she started showing me the various other wooden goodies they had just added to their displays.
Hiding at the back of the cabinet was this cute little T-Rex from Lab305. He's a bit of a player, the moment I got him home he was passed and pinned on various items of clothing by my mum and sister, but you've got to love him!
The Lab305 badges are also very reasonably priced, which is good news for me with christmas coming up.

Go forth and buy little wooden toys

I am a bird now

When I wanted the feathered skirt on ASOS I didn't buy it immediately because I hadn't been paid and didn't really want to overdraw my account (because I do it often enough when I need to feed my caffeine cravings). When I finally got paid the skirt was gone.
Skimming over the ASOS site tonight I found this...my pay hasn't gone through yet and I've already overdrawn my bank account (thanks to weekend adventures) but I don't care.
I'll sit by my mailbox for the next two weeks waiting for it to arrive now...and I will wear it the moment it gets here, even if Melbourne continues with the 40degree weather.

Slightly more boring news

I handed in my screenprinting folio on Monday. I worked with second hand books, printing directly on to the pages. Trying to present my 'resolved' pieces on a wall was an incredibly difficult task, believe me.
It seems like a mediocre folio to me, but as long as I pass I couldn't really care less. Considering I only went in to the studio twice a week with very limited access to the studio I'm quite pleased with how many prints I managed to do, but it's still not the greatest work.

Also coping with major frustration at the moment. When work changed the computer systems and switched from Mac to Dell (worst idea ever if you ask me) I asked if I could buy one of the newer iMacs. Two months later I've finally been able to bring my new toy home (one macbook is not enough for a girl like me), and I was feeling pretty chuffed because the IT guy re-formatted it for me which saved me a trip (and the money) to the nearest Mac store.

...tomorrow I am taking it back in to work and making the IT guy re-load all the software, because the computer is fucked. No matter what I try I can't install the software because there's a system error.

Someone's going to end up with a stiletto in their temple tomorrow if they don't fix their mistake, let me tell you.

a girl's gotta do

In the mood for a little pin-up/wino action...also I watched Hairspray with my mum and sister this afternoon. I couldn't resist the lure of having big hair for tonight.

fraud

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa
I was contemplating buying these shoes today. I've wanted them for months. They're amazing, and so Alice in Wonderland. The only problem is they have never been available in the colour I want or my size.
Today I was finally in luck, ASOS have my size in the yellow and black shoe in stock...plus a one day only 20% off offer. It was perfect...until I checked my bank account to transfer money and found out that someone (taxi driver scum) used my credit card this morning. After speaking with the bank and lodging a dispute I've had a block put on my card so they don't try to take more money.
It just wasn't meant to be.

I see a red truck and I want to paint it black

ASOS BLACK Feather skirt

I spent the entire weekend trying to decide whether I should buy this skirt when my next pay goes through or whether I should take my Ray-Ban Clubmasters in to the optometrist to get script lenses put in.
The decision however has now been made for me...the feather skirt is completely out of stock!
I feel slightly upset about this, mainly because I found a feathered skirt in Copper Penny that I fell in love with but couldn't purchase because I couldn't justify the price. I found this one when I was buying myself the patent Dr. Marten Diva boots. It's practically identical to the one I saw, maybe the feathers don't have the beautiful green shine but the general form and structure of this skirt is what made it a perfect match...also it was almost a fifth of the price.
I have been putting off getting my glasses done for the last three months so I should be glad I suppose that I can finally take them in...but a feathered skirt would have been amazing.

My sister brought these doll crackers home from Japan. They have tasty  peanut heads!

currently lusting over

See by Chloe studded leather ankle boots

Burberry Prorsum cutout leather sandals

I would really be happy with either (or both) of these shoes right now

And also out of some strange lust for patent leather I kind of want these
Dr. Martens Diva patent boots
Very very tempting...especially since they're in my price range (the others will be in my possession in my dreams only for now).
...do I put off getting my lenses fitted in my new frames and get these instead, or do I just go ahead with the glasses and hope that I don't regret not buying these?

hammering in my head don't stop

home!
I half wish I was still in Tokyo, but now I have more reason to go back...though maybe next time I will try to exert a lot more control over my spending. I kept myself awake through the entire flight home working out how much I had actually spent during the trip and hoping I hadn't overdrawn my account (I had!).
My bank balance was nowhere near as frightening as my international phone bill though

these boots were made for walkin'

Yesterday my dream shoes walked right under my nose and then off across Federation Square. At the time I was sitting outside Chocolate Buddha with my family have dinner before the football and as soon as I noticed them I squealed and grabbed my mothers arm pointing madly at them. For the rest of the meal I sat daydreaming about how fabulous it would be to own those shoes and plotting with my brother about tackling the lucky wearer to the ground and tearing them off her feet and making a run for it if she walked past again (unfortunately she didn't).
I would give up anything to have both the cage sandal and boots, they honestly make my heart skip a beat. After lusting over photos of them for months seeing them in person they look even more amazing.
For now I suppose I'll just have to stick with my Siren version of the shoe
I'm giving these some serious consideration as an addition to my luggage for Japan, but letting my sensible side win is the safer option...I don't think I'd manage walking around all day in them, on a night out definitely possible, but not a full day of walking and catching public transport in an unfamiliar city.
On the subject of packing, I've been restricted to a carry on bag (boo). Currently I've got a change of clothes for each day perched on top of my case, but I may have to cull a few items when I pack tomorrow night. Fingers crossed that I wont have to!

bang bang bang on the door baby

Quick jump back to Friday night.
Spring Fashion Week in Melbourne and the Designer Series Show #4 (Alpha 60, Antipod!um, Arnsdorf, Fat, Gary Pigeni, Obus and TV).
I have to say it was kind of disappointing, though I don't know  whether to pin it on  the clothes coming down the runway or the uncoordinated models wearing them (think of Thunderbirds and that's the kind of walk we were seeing...I don't understand how people find it so hard to walk in low heels).
I think I also lucked out in the ticket department by buying balcony seats instead of ground level but hey, can't win them all.
I did like the set-up of the stage/runway.

It was however quite amusing watching the latecomers argue with the ushers about the lack of seats (thankfully I overheard someone talking about the balcony seating and its first-in-best-dressed seating and grabbed Bec as soon as she found me to get upstairs)...unfortunately for them the show had been overbooked and everyone without a seat had to stand against the wall.
After the show we went on a cocktail hunt, which ended with us at a Mexican place on toorak road for Margaritas and nachos. It probably took us a good hour (maybe more?) to finish it all off...a good effort considering the size of our glasses. The night after that was a somewhat brief, yet entertaining nonetheless, adventure around Melbourne, stopping for more drinks at Bec's apartment and then back in to the city to check out the afterparty for the show (we stayed for five minutes) and then a wander around Sorry Grandma (to watch some guy projectile vomit as he made a dash for the bathroom) I did miss Josh's/any good male friends company with the random guys and their awful awful pick-up lines. Hanging out with a mainly all male group the majority of the time I'm not used to being approached and the whole situation just leaves me feeling awkward and a tiny bit scared...especially when there are short bogans yanking on  my hand and not letting go when I'm walking out of a bar so they can talk to me. Not cool...I want my safety net/boyfriend when I go out.

An idea of how big our monster drinks were. They seemed bottomless I swear. Took the wrong lens with me so close up shots that night were almost impossible.

little creatures

Second day of spring and the weather was perfect. So good Olivia and I considered celebrating with the first Wednesday drinks at Rooftop for the season, but instead we decided to check out the Little Creatures Dining Hall in Fitzroy.

As if you wouldn't pass up home made chips and beer for lunch!

Before we went for lunch we went for a quick visit to the outlet store on Brunswick Street. I ended up leaving with a coral coloured Alannah Hill sample dress and this crazy little collar which Olivia was happy to model while we waited for our chips.

It's cute as...haven't worked out what I'll wear it with yet but it is fun to play around with.

lusting over

Acne A/W 09 Atacoma wedges.
I'll take one pair in a size 40 thanks!

one more to join the masses

Following the lead of others, I'm nothing more than a sheep but what can I say...there must be some contact with the world.
I bring all the best intentions of photo updates and nonsensical blabber about a not so subtle addiction to footwear.
But we shall see
